Track Program

Track and Field is a true family activity that teaches the lifelong sport of running while providing children with the mental fortitude to accomplish their goals in life. Our program is available to students from grades K-8, which affords the chance for all your children to participate in a sports event on the same day at the same time. The team meets conveniently after school on Mondays and Thursdays from 3:30-4:30 and runs from mid-March until the end of May. We have witnessed tremendous interest and success in our first two seasons with our team of 121 athletes taking first place in 2009 within a division of 7 other elementary schools.
With various relay and long distance races as well as several field events, each child is encouraged to try one field event and two running events at the two scheduled meets held at Immaculate High School. Additionally, there isone All-Star meet at the end of May where all the schools compete on the same day. Results tabulated from the first two meets are reviewed to determine which athletes will qualify for the All-Star event. The season concludes with an awards ceremony at which the athletes are recognized for their dedication, achievements and positive attitude displayed throughout the period.
