St. Gregory the Great School serves students from Danbury, its surrounding towns, and Putnam County, NY.  Busing is provided to students who live in Danbury and to students from Brewster, NY who reside within a 15-mile radius of the school.  St. Gregory the Great School has an open enrollment policy and accepts students on a year-round basis.

 

Admissions Procedures & Requirements
The best way to learn more about our school is to visit us for a tour.  You may visit every Tuesday for Take a Look Tuesday throughout the school year from 9:30-11:30 a.m. or you may schedule an appointment for a tour anytime during school hours.  To schedule a tour please send an email to sgs.admissions@sgtgs.org or call the school office at 203-748-1217.


1. Schedule a tour.

2. Student shadows for a day (1st through 8th grade only).

3. Submit completed application with $125 non-refundable application fee.

4. Required documentation: Copy of Birth Certificate, Baptismal Certificate (if applicable) & Health Records.

5. Submit signed School Record Release Form where applicable.

Screenings
Students will be given an assessment during their shadow visit.  They are tested to determine their aptitude in language arts, math, and writing.  Separate screenings for Kindergarten students take place in May. The school office will call to schedule the day and time of the screenings upon submission of a completed application.
 
Acceptance letters are usually mailed by April 1st. All new students are accepted on a provisional basis, contingent on the successful inclusion into our school. Students will be evaluated quarterly until the end of their first year.

Our Catholic Schools admit students of any race, color, and national or ethnic origin.

Age Requirements

Pre-K 3's: The child must be (3) years old by September 1.
Pre-K 4’s: The child must be (4) years old by December 31.
Kindergarten: The child must be five (5) years old by December 31.

Once you’ve registered the next step is to sign up for FACTS tuition payments FACTS Tuition Sign Up For New Families 

 

*Tuition Assistance is available through the Bishop’s Scholarship Fund  and school grants.  Please click here to view the brochure & click here to view the FAQ's.  The next step would then be to complete the Grant and Aid Application and submit the required supporting documentation. Deadline for applications is to the Bishop’s Scholarship Fund for returning families is March 15, 2020 and for new families it is April 15, 2020.
