Boys & Girls Basketball Program
The St Gregory basketball program includes a Junior Varsity and Varsity team for both boys and girls inclusive of students in grades 5-8. We participate in the Greater Danbury Parochial School Basketball League which runs from October to March, concluding with a playoff weekend held at Immaculate High School. Teams may also choose to participate in various preseason tournaments including the “Harvest Tournament.”
St Gregory the Great carries a strong heritage of Basketball success which includes 16 regular season or championship titles across all four teams. This success is a direct result of the dedication demonstrated by both the participating children as well as the countless number of parent-volunteers.
We look forward to another fun and exciting season and strongly encourage you to come out and support our teams!
Greater Danbury Parochial School Basketball League Code of Conduct
The Catholic School System of Greater Danbury promotes the concept of good conduct by all participants including players, coaches, referees, parents and spectators. This concept will provide a safe athletic environment, good role models and a sense of community spirit throughout the league. All participants are to maintain and promote the highest standards of conduct at all times. By doing this, it will prove that good conduct and competitive sports can co-exist.
Therefore, children attending our home games are the responsibility of their parents. Children must be seated and watch the game. There can be no playing on the stairs, hanging on the stage curtains or running back stage. Children must be attached to a parent and not “dropped off” for the night. Trash and garbage must be deposited in trash cans and water bottles removed.
Children who do not abide by this Code of Conduct will be asked to be taken home. This is a matter of child safety, liability and respect for the people who come to watch the game.
